‘What Are We’

image17

Affection, Affliction, Repulsion

Melancholy, Emotions

Blistering Fresh Wound

Elated Cheerful Sound

Our Heart !

Investigating , Envisaging, Answering

Straying And Rambling

Like Clouds

Our Mind !

Hollow, Vaulted, Ephemeral

Argil and Immaterial

A Mere Vessel

Our Body !

What Are We ?

  4. Beautiful again.

Is your mind always on such topics or should I credit Ramadan? (Anything to avoid thinking about food. mind = people, heart = love, body = ‘stufff’ ;)).

So much for heart, mind and body. What about spirit/soul?

Buddhists say there is none (anatta/anatma).
Hindus say it is all there is (Brahman).
Christians seem to see it as some sort of ‘ghost image’ of the living person.
Traditional Aborigines believe it is the indestructible essence of the Land that joins us to it in life and returns to it in death.

Some Sufi poets seem to suggest Spirit and Allah are One.
    Is this not blasphemous?

    • Thanks ! It is always an honor to hear from you ๐Ÿ™‚
Lol No you can’t blame Ramadan for this ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don’t know the reason why I keep thinking about this stuff ! I really don’t know….
Yes The soul is also included in “Us” But I have very small knowledge regarding soul…..Our religion says us to ask less about it because we can’t handle its realities and secrets !
I don’t know the wisdom behind it But That was the reason I didn’t mentioned it……
Okaay Thanks for the beautiful information again ! Yes I have read this concept about sufi poets too ! They don’t exactly say spirit And Allah are one, as far as I know, they say our spirit is a part of Allah !
Yes may be ! May be this is the reason we are forbidden to inquire about the soul thing !!!
Thank you so much for the comment !

      • Thanks very much for that info about the Islamic approach to soul. Somehow it had passed me by.

Would it be the same sort of teaching as that which Musa/Moses(pbuh) received when he asked to look upon Allah?

      • No He asked Allah to let Himself appear before him and He wished to see Allah….And when He appeared , Musa couldn’t handle it and he fainted. May be it had something to do with the thing we were discussing…..I can’t say anything ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  6. You know a wonderful description of who we are from the Hindu scriptures…

Our body is a chariot. The senses are its horses. Our heart is the ‘lagaam’ or the riegns which control the horses. The mind (intellect) is the charioteer (or the chariot driver) and the traveler in the chariot is the soul – the real us.

As the chariot runs on the path, the horses (senses) see various objects; some of which attract it. The others repel it. It is through the reigns (the heart and emotions) that we can dictate the motion of the horses. The reigns are in turn controlled by the charioteer (the mind). And it is ultimately the traveler (the soul) which commands the charioteer. If any of these controls are lost, horses may take the soul (the atma) to a wrong path – away from the greater soul (paramatma)…

The soul, by one viewpoint is the is the real we… The chariot gets destroyed after sometime (death) but the traveler continues on another chariot (birth) until the greater soul is met (moksha).

So taking that viewpoint, may I just add another part to your (already marvelous :)) poem

    Steady, Unaltered, Unborn, Undead
    Calm, detached and Fearless
Travelling on the path to eternity and bliss
The soul which travels on the path of progress…

    ๐Ÿ™‚

    Brilliantly Written…

    • Wow ! Arindam Loved the Hindu Scripture description of us ! Really amazing…..I heard the horse and the Lagaam thing before but You have described this so beautifully ! Very well said about how horses can take the soul to right and wrong path….!!
You know as I explained to Cabrogal, In our religion we are forbidden to ask or inquire about Soul ! I don’t know the exact reasons but we know very less about it ! Some sufis say it is a part of Allah !
Well I must say It looks like your one paragraph is worth than my all three paragraphs ! Lovely yaaaaar !!
It has more “Wazan” lol I don’t know what do they call it in English ๐Ÿ˜‰
“Travelling on the path to eternity and bliss
The soul which travels on the path of progressโ€ฆ”
      Wow ! Excellent !
Thank you so much for the honor ๐Ÿ™‚ Always Love reading your remarks ! They mean to me so much ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

      • Oh wow! that’s something in common! we too be believe that the spirit is a part of god (or greater soul or paramatma) and hence comes the concept of ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ (เค…เคนเคฎเฅ เคฌเฅเคฐเคนเฅเคฎเคพเคธเฅเคฎเคฟ) or “I am the creator”.

Yes, we believe that each one of us is the god…

      • Oh That is good ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the info ! And I really wonder sometimes how yo people write Hindi…It seems so difficult It seems like drawing something….I Love this language written but Never tried to understand how You write it !
And yes I know about this concept……There is a story too of a sufi regarding this…..

      • You mean how to write it on the computer? Or how to write it in general?

      • In general ! I mean what are your alphabets like and Do it seems difficult to you too ?

      • Well… difficult question… depends on which languages you already know… All North Indian Languages (at least) are similar in some respects… (And I have no idea about Urdu)…

Well details may be found on Wikipedia… However I will try to give some differences from english…

        1. These are phonetic Languages (we write as we speak) – so there is no concept of silent letters and same letters sounding differently (e.g. ‘c’ in ‘cease’ and ‘can’ have different sounds)

        2. The letters in a word are grouped by a horizontal line on top.

        3. Each vowel sound has a mark (matra). So in a word if a vowel sound follows a consonant sound the corresponding matra is added to the consonant.

All these three hold for Sanskrit, Hindi and Bengali for sure (because I know them well)

Rest can be found on the wiki I guess…

        You know Urdu I guess…
I would love to learn some of it from you ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Oh Okaaaay !! I understood nothing though ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›
It still seems difficult to me ๐Ÿ˜‰ But it is beautiful…The way the words are made is beautiful !
And Yes I know Urdu but I can teach it to you lol It is my mother language and I don’t know any rules and I peak and Write it without following rules ๐Ÿ˜›
Thank God it resembles Hindi while speaking ๐Ÿ˜€ Right ? ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • I suppose you meant ‘I can’t teach it to you’….

Yeah they resemble each other while speaking…

After reading your comment, I did a small ‘research’ on Hindi-Urdu (for 30 minutes :P) relations for more details and found out they ought to sound the same because they are two different writing forms of the same spoken language.

For example… the order of alphabets remain the same (but called by different names). In Hindi, it is

        ka, kha, ga, gha…

I guess in Urdu it is…

        kaaf, kaaf-hay, gaaf, gaaf-hay…

The corresponding pronunciations remain the same.
        ๐Ÿ™‚
(BTW… were the Urdu alphabets written by me correct?, I read it in a research article…)

      • Hey yeah exactly I meant that ๐Ÿ˜›
Lol wow I am glad you made a search because of me ๐Ÿ˜‰
And yes I get the reason why these languages sound alike !
The words in Urdu are pronounced as kaaaf-hay but the sounds coming out when they are joined are the same as Hindi !
yes you wrote them all correct ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats your first step in learning Urdu is completed ! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Love to read all the thoughts here. So many ring true!

Your piece here is very moving. I used to be so connected to my yard. I talked about Ivan killing my tree in my recent blog post. I never thought so much how fleeting culture is and how large nature is until Hurricane Ivan came to visit. And never connected to my Neighbors until the front porch finally got used with no electricity.

I still loved Hurricanes. I forgave Ivan and watched Katrina grow, which just happens to be my wife’s name. I can remember being in the gym I work out at and fantasizing the winds would grow stronger and stronger to 200 miles an hour.

I finally learned more about empathy when I experienced pain for me. I don’t like Hurricanes anymore because I know about pain.

I finally feel free from all those losses that Hurricanes give, because I understand that the only important part of me is what remains in other people when I connect to them. My son taught that to me, but I never understood it fully until I finally felt his pain.

Sorry for the long comment but your writing here moves a special lifelong interest in life and Hurricanes. Love to you. I don’t know why but when I say that to strangers I am afraid they might think I’m creepy. That’s what’s really lost in our culture.

    Love.

I found it in another culture far past a desert called Pakistan. It has no physical form but is more beautiful than anything I see. Living in a Love culture there are fewer needs for material things, or at least so much smaller want for each and every one.

I will now proudly say blessings love true will to you all my friends.

I wonder how much different the US would be if it is against the law not to say that after any conversation on the internet.

Liberty and Love are interesting lovers and friends.

    Hi White pearl!.

This thought is generated at the Dversepoets dot com website; a place where poetry from people internationally is shared. I would love to see either this one or the next one you write shared there for all the world to see.

All you have to do is go to the site and enter your link in. I’m not sure if it would be blocked, but it would be lovely for all the world to share your poetry across all countries of individuals that share there. Fun for many new creative minds to come here internationally to share with you too! and all your lovely friends that I truly love too. :)!

      • Hi there Love. Sorry my post might have been a little confusing. The part about sorry down to where I say Hi White Pearl is a copy and paste I wrote at a D-Verse linked Poem Blog. People do get upset sometimes at my long comments, so I was expressing humility in that ‘strange’ environment in advance.

I am doing quite well, in fact, my wife took some photos of me being happy talking to my mother that I put at the bottom of the ‘Rev. 66’ post used as an analogy with a movie trailer called 47 Ronin that talks about 47 warriors coming together to save the world.

The other photo of me and my wife standing in front of the tree is when I was 44 and she was 34. I am 53 now in the pictures taken two days ago. She looks exactly the same as she did when I married her at 19 and I was 29.

I challenged 47 Poets from the D-Verse website to bring me an answer to a question. Coincidence with the 47 matching up to the movie trailer. Most interestingly only 1 out of 47 took the challenge and brought me exactly the message I was looking for to finish the story with a Y at the end of the comments there in that post.

I would be quite honored if you would make a comment there after my comment of whatever you want to say, if you are up to that challenge, as only 1 person of these international poets was up to the task to take it serious or even for fun.

I have also been using my ‘comedian’ skills at bantering off more people at the Wrong Planet website calling me insane.

I will have to say I was a little exhausted and frustrated yesterday. All your posts seem to reflect my life here lately for whatever reason. But I was concerned that my interaction with you might have worn you out a little bit.

It was 2 hours after all and about 100 or so comments. My wife tells me I hurt her head, so I am sensitive to the effect my Hurricane of Words have on people,,,usually after the effect if you will. You sound quite chipper in your comments so it seems you are okay. That is good.

I am always happy to comment here, because it is truly the only place online that I do not feel like an invisible man.. I know people are listening but it is hard for anyone to feel visible when no one communicates with them… A few people are lately which feels really good because no one really did for almost 44 months,…to any significant effect. I look at that as positive because it was part of the fuel behind the words.

Talk to you later..you are always welcome to continue the conversation but I will let you decide..when. I will continue making one comment here to each of your posts. Blessings Love True Will to you and all your lovely friends!

      • Hey ! Please give me a link where you had discussions and you asked question , to that poem blog. I went there but I wasn’t able to find anything.
And I just had a look at your new post….I love it. Love the way you mentioned my name at two places…. Loved reading it. All the pictures are lovely ๐Ÿ™‚
I was talking to a friend yesterday and I told how Impressed I am from you ! Really I love your views and your way of life. Don’t ever think your words can effect me in a bad way ! Never ever think this.
And you are always more tha welcome to comment here ! This is your blog too ๐Ÿ™‚ I was so amazed to read that my posts are reflecting your life too !
I wanted to continue the conversation but I am so busy in my Final project…..I will be free completely in 4 or 5 days . I am so sorry to keep you waiting like this !
It was nice reading all this.
        Love ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  10. Hey Love; here again. Sorry for confusing you. The challenge was a metaphor for asking what the movie trailer was going to predict in the future at the end of post 66.

The blog poem site I was talking about was just a random blog post I was responding too with that prose above.

    The Answer is Love!

For example, if everyone started greeting everyone with the greeting of Hey Love and Love ya at the end of each interaction and really mean it! that would be enough to save the world!!

One does not even have to say true will or blessings to you. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been trying to figure out the perfect message for people to greet each other and say goodbye and these phrases seem to be the key.

Only problem is convincing people to do it!

But of course love doesn’t work that way!

It is contagious; there is no instruction for it or convincing about it!

The more I say hey love to people and say love ya and mean it I spread love and it’s ALL FREE!!!!!!1. Everyone can share the light with no restrictions!!

Love you more see you later!

    • Hey Love (As you said ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
It may be random but I want to read what you did there please give me a link to it !
Yes I must say this is the most awesome idea ! You know we humans need a slight small word to become happy ! And this greeting has the power to make people happy ๐Ÿ™‚
      Love your ideas !
Thanks so much for it ๐Ÿ™‚
Love you too more ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

      • Hey Love back again and again. hehe! Sorry I keep confusing you. The poem I responded to was in open night 106 at D-Verse. As you probably can imagine I don’t do anything half way. I responded to over 100 poets. About half of them approved my responses. Along the way I wish I meet more people like you and me who accept everyone and tell them love when they meet them and when they leave them too.

The poem above was generated from that sadness… It was at the point I felt to express it; it could have been any of the over 100 poets there. If you want me to I will go through every poem and find it for you, but it has nothing to do with anything the person who wrote the poem where I left it at.

Off topic, if you will, and likely more meaningful to me than anyone else.

I appreciate your friendship; I’m not sure I would have the hope for humanity I have now, in fact I don’t think I would, If I had not connected with you.

You are not only love you are hope as well.

The only question I had for the poets was at my website at the end of the 66 post. I’m sure there were quite a few of the 47 poets listening but only one, Brian Miller, to venture into the ‘strange’ land of 66…Smiles…Love ya. ๐Ÿ™‚

In my last post the first one on my blog in the last prompt at D-Verse called my perspective on life, they poured out a great deal of kind feelings to me that actually made me feel like I was no longer invisible in the West for the first time in a very long time.

Your blog does feel as much as mine as mine does to me and hope for you too and yes as soon as I saw your illustration of love I linked it to every word love from 66 to now on my blog that I see…Again no half ways for me…No Lukewarms.

        ONLY FIRE PASSION LOVE LIGHT!!!

PS: If you don’t mind if you have the edit ability could you correct the 44 months I wrote up there to 32. I miss-spoke. I have been careful to not make any mistakes in anything I write in over 5 million words on the internet in the 32 months. It is part of the Passion. Love you again more. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Hey Love, I found the Link! It was happening in the future!! Now it is quoted and linked on your Love Insight Story!!! And also linked and quoted in the last 6 posts of my blog; just like that! Love is contagious!! If just one person just like you loves enough they can start a full Tsunami T SUN AM I of Love all around the world!!!

Hey love! Let’s do this thing!! Nowoneforevermore!!!

    Love for ALL1!
